The Division 16 of the Styrian Federal Government commissioned ÖIR with a baseline study creating a comprehensive spatial typology of Styria. This topology will function as an additional instrument for the work of Division 16 in order to obtain a more concrete overall spatial image of the country. The study was done on community-level. The typologies were developed particularly on socioeconomic indicators, including their dynamic development. Content were all topics relevant to state and local development: accessibility, demographics, settlement, economy, particularly tourism and dynamic spaces.
