The PEACE PLUS programme covering Ireland and Northern Ireland is continued in the current programming period. Post Brexit, the importance of the cooperation programme, which is now covering an EU external border, has grown even bigger than before.

As an EU programme under Cohesion Policy, the PEACE PLUS programme was required to conduct a DNSH-assessment (“do no significant harm”). ÖIR conducted the assessment in accordance with EU regulations and thus was able to contribute to the environmental consciousness of the programme. The implementation of the assessment in a short timeframe supported the programme authorities in their effort to adhere to tight deadlines for programme development.
