In June 2012 OIR has completed an analytical study about infrastructure for renewable energies as factor for local and regional development. The study has been conducted within the framework contract with the European Parliament (Committee for Regional Development) in cooperation with IEEP, SWECO and BIOSIS (responsible contact person at OIR Bernd Schuh).

In June 2012 OIR has completed an analytical study about infrastructure for renewable energies as factor for local and regional development. The study has been conducted within the framework contract with the European Parliament (Committee for Regional Development) in cooperation with IEEP, SWECO and BIOSIS (responsible contact person at OIR Bernd Schuh). The aim of the study has been to assess the role of European Regional Development Policies in establishing and developing renewable energy sources and the connected infrastructure (grids). Moreover the potentials for endogenous regional development derived from these investments have been analysed. The study team conducted a number of case studies all over Europe and a thorough analysis of the European energy markets. The study is in the meantime available as download on the homepage of the European Parliament.
