Project start ESPON InTerAlp

In collaboration with University Erlangen as lead partner and Politecnico di Torino, ÖIR is contributing to the ESPON project on Interface Territories across the Alpine region. The study will focus on regions between the mountainous inner Alpine area and the metropolitan pre-Alpine lowland – so called “interface territories”. We will identify, analyse and map flows and interlinkages in those territories, and examine the existing governance structures linked to them. From these analyses we will derive proposals for improving transnational territorial planning contributing to a stronger development of the regions in the future.
