Which territorial effects are created by cross-border rail infrastructure and how can this contribute to regional development? ÖIR has addressed this question in a territorial impact assessment study in the Eastern Brandenburg-Lubuskie region. The example case “Ostbahn/Linia 203” connecting Berlin with Gorzow Wielkopolski in Poland is currently in the planning phase for upgrades in the future. The project team led by Roland Gaugitsch involving our partners Regionomica and Dr. Peter Ulrich has now delivered the final report which is accessible in German, Polish and English at the website of the German-Polish spatial planning portal.
