The OIR team – Bernd Schuh, Helene Gorny and Ursula Mollay – is delighted to announced the successful completion of a project funded by the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) to alleviate poverty in rural Georgia, specifically in the Keda region. The three-year long project, led by CENN (Caucasus Environmental Network NGO) followed the EU-LEADER approach and accordingly aimed at promoting a bottom-up, inclusive rural development strategy that fully engaged all communities in the Keda region, in particular women and youth.
ÖIR provided advisory support on how to apply and adapt the EU-LEADER approach to the region, on the creation of a Local Action Group, and contributed to developing knowledge materials and training to raise awareness and capacity building. More information on the project can be found on the Keda LEADER website. Congratulations to the LAG members and thank you to all members of the implementing team!
