The research project ‚Transformation of Cities into a Low Carbon Future and its Impact on Urban Metabolism, Environment, and Society‘ (TransLoC) aims at a holistic analysis of potential transformation paths for Vienna towards decarbonisation by 2050. Together with the lead partner TU Wien and IHS, the OIR team – Christof Schremmer, Florian Keringer, Raffael Koscher and Ursula Mollay – elaborates long-term urban development scenarios for Vienna. Based on these urban development scenarios the interdisciplinary project team examines future urban transformation paths in terms of energy production and consumption, emissions and material flows for the sectors of transport and buildings, as well as their impact on the labour market and the quality of work, e.g. in green jobs.
