In November 2014, ÖIR held a workshop on the subject of the smooth phasing out of the milk quotas in the European Union. A number of experts in the field of dairy industry has discussed the phasing out of the milk quotas in April 2015 and identified possible territorial effects of these arrangements. Based on the ESPON TIA Tool, developed by ÖIR in 2014, a conceptual model of the effects of expiring quotas on the aspects of environment, society, economy and administration has been elaborated. In a further step, the possible effects have been presented in cartographic form.
