The “State of the Territory Report” systematically analysed territorial development across the Alpine region within the framework of the EU Strategy for the Alpine Region (EUSALP). The aim was to create a common evidence-based knowledge base that highlights spatial challenges, development trends, and functional inter¬relationships in the Alpine region, thereby supporting the strategic further development of EUSALP. The report strengthened the territorial dimension of the macro-regio¬nal strategy and contributed to the ongoing development of an Alpine spatial develop¬ment perspective in the con¬text of the Alpine Convention.

As consortium leader, ÖIR was responsible for the conceptual development, spatial analysis, and overall content of the report. In addition, ÖIR deve¬loped the analytical approach, identified relevant territorial challenges across the Alps, and derived strategic fields of action for the further development of EUSALP.
