Croatia’s Sava River is part of the Pan-European Corridor X. Within the work of the International Sava River Basin Commission a comprehensive plan for the rehabilitation of the Sava waterway was elaborated. Sisak New Port – only 65 kilometres from the capital Zagreb – is an important element of Croatian Waterway Transport Policy and the rehabilitation of Sava waterway. The integrated project approach foresees the new port as a hub for waterborne transport chains and a multimodal logistic node.
