The study examined the impacts and needs of businesses in light of the upcoming transition to a climate-neutral economy. The business sector plays a crucial role in achieving climate neutrality in the next 20 years. For the preparation of the JTP 2021-2027 for Austria, case studies are conducted.
ÖIR conducted case studies in CO2-intensive sectors as well as the forerunners of the transition in Austria. The focus was on the challenges and opportunities for companies arising from the transition to climate neutrality, as well as the effects on competitiveness and employment. The regional focus was on the Austrian JTP region consisting of specific areas in four provinces – Carinthia, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Styria.
