The study “Generational change in agriculture: Comparative analysis of businesses run by young farmers in selected EU countries” provided the members of the AGRI Committee with an overview of national and CAP interventions and strategies applied by selected member states to support young farmers. The analysis highlights the role of integrated policy mixes and complementary national policies targeting financial liquidity, access to land and retirement.
Furthermore, the study also provides evidence on the types of farm businesses operated by young farmers in four member states – Finland, Spain, Luxembourg and Poland. This includes the size of the farm business, information on the farming sector, as well as the application of specific production techniques.
