On May 22nd 2014 the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Municipalities and Rural Affairs in Saudi Arabia – his Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Al shaikh – and Prof. Abdullah Algami from the King Saud University – Civil Engineering Department have been welcomed at the OIR premises. Bernd Schuh and Ursula Mollay presented the spectrum of OIR services with a special emphasis on Smart Cities, GIS and Decision Support Tools.

On this basis possible fields of cooperation within Saudi-Arabia have been discussed – especially in the field of KSA’s Spatial Strategy and the issue of economic cities.
