The ESPON project CROSSGOV – Governance mechanisms for cross-border functional areas – investigated how functional interconnections in European border regions can be better understood and utilised for planning and policy-making. The project results are now available including the CROSSGOV Hub which is a central output of the project. The Hub offers interactive access to cross-border functional areas in Europe. This includes an atlas with 21 indicators, thematic analyses and regional zoom-ins for 40 border regions. It thus provides both a Europe-wide overview and detailed insights at regional level.

As a project partner, the ÖIR played a key role in the conceptual development and analysis, particularly with regard to the creation of the Hub’s content. The results provide an important basis for evidence-based policy-making and the further development of cross-border cooperation in Europe.

You can find the link to the CROSSGOV Hub here. A project description is available on the ESPON website.
