During the research project ‘Transformation Agenda for Low Carbon Cities’ the project team analysed the development of selected urban areas in Vienna, Amsterdam, Genoa, Hamburg, Copenhagen and Lyon. The international and interdisciplinary working group consisting of urban, energy and scientific experts discussed these experiences and developed further steps for local implementation (www.urbantransform.eu). The publication – elaborated by Ursula Mollay, Barbara Saringer-Bory and Christof Schremmer from OIR with contributions of Stephan Hartmann and Ina Homeier (MA18) – was subsequently commissioned by the City of Vienna. It presents key findings and innovative approaches from the TRANSFORM cities and provides interesting aspects also for other cities.
