The kick-off meeting of the project „FIKUS – Financing Instruments for Small and Medium-Sized Cities” took place in February 2022. Representatives of the Climate and Energy Fund of the Austrian Federal Government and the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) participated. The aim of this project is to comprehensively examine the financing instruments at national and international level – in particular instruments of the European Investment Bank.
In cooperation with the Austrian Association of Cities and Towns and representatives of small and medium-sized cities, concrete challenges are to be identified and targeted strategies and recommendations will be developed. A key output is an interactive handbook on financing instruments for cities and planners. From ÖIR, Mailin Gaupp-Berghausen, Erich Dallhammer, Bernd Schuh, Ursula Mollay and Arndt Münch are working on the study.
