ÖIR is pleased to contribute, together with ADE and other partners, to the pilot study commissioned by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development (DG AGRI) for a future EU Observatory on Farmland.
The study will provide the analytical basis for a possible EU Observatory aimed at enhancing transparency and cooperation in key areas of agricultural land markets. It will examine, among other issues, land transactions, transfers of land use rights, price trends, market behaviour, changes in land use, and the loss of agricultural and natural land.
This study supports the development of a stronger evidence base for addressing access to farmland, generational renewal and the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of European agriculture.
