On November 14th 2017 the European Spatial Observatory Network (ESPON) held its 15 year anniversary Conference in Brussels at the Committee of the Regions (link to the documentation). The event tried to to inform as widely as possible about the ESPON 2020 Programme and to ensure a European wide understanding of the operation and delivery of the ESPON 2020 programme, the actions and activities foreseen related to territorial evidence and the (indirect) funding opportunities the programme offers.
OIR (represented by B. Schuh) presented its successfully applied TIA Quick Check as example fo the usefulness of ESPON tools for territorial based decision making in EU policies. The TIA Quick Check is by now a renown standard of territorial impact assessment within the framework of the Better Regulation Guidelines and the overall Impact Assessment procedures of EU legislation.
