On march 22nd 2013 the General Directorate for Regional and Urban Policy (Unit B1 Lewis Dijkstra) hosted a Commission Staff training course on “Territorial impact assessment: what it means, why it can be useful, when to use and how to do it?”. More than 20 representatives from various General Directorates participated in this event.

On march 22nd 2013 the General Directorate for Regional and Urban Policy (Unit B1 Lewis Dijkstra) hosted a Commission Staff training course on “Territorial impact assessment: what it means, why it can be useful, when to use and how to do it?”. More than 20 representatives from various General Directorates participated in this event. Bernd Schuh from OIR has been invited to present its ESPON ARTS methodology and assessment tool (more details). The training course offered a broad overview of various assessment approaches – presented by the EU Joint Research Centre and Alterra-Wageningen – and has further helped to disseminate the core competence of OIR in Territorial impact assessment at the EU level.
