In cooperation with the Countryside and Community Research Institute (CCRI) of the University of Gloucestershire OIR has completed a study on “The Role of the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy in Creating Rural jobs” for the subcommittee on Agriculture and Rural development of the EU Parliament. The project has been coordinated by Bernd Schuh. The aim of the study was to carry out an analysis of the contribution of the EU’s CAP to the creation of rural jobs across the EU, in order to support MEPs in preparing an own-initiative report.

The study consists of a literature review accompanied by member State analyses and several case studies. It has been published on the website of the EU Parliament. In April 2016 the authors had the opportunity to present the results at the Parliament sub-committee meeting followed by a very vivid debate with the MEPs.
