How do functional cross-border areas look like? ÖIR just started the work on the new ESPON CROSSGOV project to answer this question. In a team led by FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg and in cooperation with Central European Service for Cross-Border Initiatives (CESCI), ÖIR will take up the challenge of conceptualising and developing an understanding of cross-border functional areas and their policy implications across the ESPON space. The main responsibility of our team coordinated by Roland Gaugitsch and Manon Badouix will be the implementation of a cross-border atlas that will make the results accessible to all audiences.
