On the 27th of May 2014 the ESPON tools project ‘Filling in Data Gaps in the ESPON Database’ started with a meeting in Luxemburg. The project, tendered by the European Spatial Planning Observatory Network (ESPON), will be realised by OIR together with its partners Spatial Foresight and t33. Aim of the project is the production of complete time series of core indicators, considered useful for EU Cohesion Policy. This will be achieved by data collection and estimation of missing data.

The project, tendered by the European Spatial Planning Observatory Network (ESPON), will be realised by OIR together with its partners Spatial Foresight and t33. Aim of the project is the production of complete time series of core indicators, considered useful for EU Cohesion Policy. This will be achieved by data collection and estimation of missing data. This update is part of a long-term strategy for keeping the ESPON Database up-to-date and useful in the context of European territorial analyses and providing Europe-wide comparable data down to NUTS3-level.
