In recent months, OIR and its partner AIDICO have been developing a web-based tool for territorial impact analysis, which enables mapping territorial effects of a concrete EU policy on NUTS3 regions. The tool implements the methodology of the ESPON ARTS project and was now intensively tested during first test runs, in July 2014.

In the first Viennese workshop, a number of participants from the ESPON CU, the Environmental Agency Austria, the University of Vienna, the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and the Austrian Conference on Spatial Planning participated; participants from the CoR, the European Parliament, DG REGIO, DG CLIMATE and the ESPON CU joined the Brussels workshop at the end of the month. Besides the first test runs of the tool, intensive discussions about the usability of the tool, possible improvements and adaptations took place. The finalised version of the web-tool will be available at the ESPON website in autumn 2014.
