From June 18th to 20th the so-called ‘Intensive Lab Session’ took place in Amsterdam. This workshop is part of the FP7 Smart City project TRANSFORM with participation of 6 European cities: Vienna, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Lyon and Genoa. For the district of Amsterdam South East with 80,000 inhabitants and 30,000 jobs the Intensive Session Team ­ 15 experts, local stakeholders and representatives of the city administration – developed proposals for smart, energetic transformation of this district. Christof Schremmer from OIR together with Ina Homeier of MA 18 – Urban Development and Planning of Vienna are responsible for this work package, which develops strategies and implementation plans for 7 districts in 6 TRANSFORM partner cities. Vienna is involved with two Smart Urban Labs ‘aspern_Seestadt’ and ‘Liesing Großerlaa’ The next Intensive Lab Session will take place in September 2013 in Hamburg, Vienna will follow 2014.
