End of August/ beginning of September 2020 Bernd Schuh from OIR – together with the project partners from MODUL University and SEBLU – conducted a series of four workshops in Slovenia finalising the case study stage of the ESPON Tourism project. All workshops in Bled, Brezice, Divaca and Nova Goriza/ Gorizia were conducted in person and provided valuable feedback to the methodology to assess carrying capacity in tourism developed within this project. The lessons learnt will allow the methodology to be applied universally in tourist destinations all over Europe. It offers an excellent way how to deal with the challenging situation of tourism to cope with Covid-19 and explore sustainable ways into the future. Further information on this project is available on the website of ESPON Tourism.
