The European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) is a tool to facilitate cross-border, transnational or interregional cooperation between regional and local authorities. It was established by the European Union in 2006. This tool brings regional and local authorities of the member states together to strengthen the economic and social cohesion.

It was established by the European Union in 2006. This tool brings regional and local authorities of the member states together to strengthen the economic and social cohesion. In the “EGTC Monitoring Report 2018-2019”, a consortium of OIR, Spatial Foresight, t33 and Mcrit provides an overview on the development and current state of play of the EGTC instrument, national implementation and an overview on the activities of the EGTCs. Furthermore, the monitoring report presents good practices of the EGTCs. The Monitoring Report is available on the website of the Committee of the Regions.
