After a multi-year development process the European Commission has approved the Austrian strategic plan for implementation of the Common agricultural policy (CAP strategic plan). ÖIR in cooperation with the University of Life Sciences Vienna has conducted the strategic environmental assessment (SEA) and thus contributed to a more sustainable, “greener” design of the funding instruments. At ÖIR, Erich Dallhammer, Roland Gaugitsch and Florian Gaugitsch worked on the assessment of nearly 100 different measures in order to identify potential environmental impacts and provide recommendations for mitigation to the programme.
