Spatial, urban and regional planning
- SUME: Sustainable Urban Metabolism in Europe (Project in the 7th Framework Research Programme): Project coordinator and Work Package Leader in a 3 year collaborative research project on long term urban development strategies in Europe. Based on the metabolism approach, the urban systems´ resource consumption (energy, land , material flows) and its dependency on urban spatial structures is being researched. Long-term scenarios for 8 large European cities, a metabolic stocks and flows model, a Metabolic Impact analysis and a Policy Tool are being developed.
- STEP 2005: Urban Development Plan of the City of Vienna 2005, including process design and management, coordination of administrative units, thematic inputs (e.g. economic and demographic development, urban development, environmental and open space development)
STEP 2010: Intermediary update - Masterplan for the Salzburg region: Cross-border, regional development planning process, including municipalities, stakeholders, and the regional authorities, covering housing, infrastructure and economic development as well as environmental concerns
- Siemens-Allissen. Concept for a Viennese urban District development, including site analysis, planning process and public relations
- Mobilizing urban building zones. Impact analysis of potential legal and economic instruments mobilizing real estate development in urban building zones; strategy development with relevant stakeholders and administrative units
