RAUM 74: Ageing society: a challenge in urban, rural and regional context
Life expectancy is growing, and old age can be lived fitter and more actively today than ever before. Living longer still is not entirely a success story. In public opinion ageing society is linked to collapsing care systems, economic disequilibrium and rising intergeneration conflicts. The recent edition of RAUM, the Austrian journal for spatial planning and regional policy, looks at the challenges an ageing society is facing from an urban, rural and regioanl point of view. Plus: A portrait of the border region at the mythical alpine Brenner-corridor and a look at Graz and Linz as cultural capitals from an urban-development point of view. RAUM74
